The lower level is primarily intended for staging, and the upper level is the "layout-proper". Ben enjoys just watching long trains running. Ben is still working on the layout, so that is a great opportunity to see how he is building it.

The helix area serves both as a staging yard and as the means by which trains are moved into or out of the main layout (yet to be built).
