This photo shows a portion of the engine servicing facilities. The consolidation is a modified Omnicon brass import, and the RS3 is from American Models. All of Bob's locomotives were equipped with DCC. The sand tower is an Associated Hobby Manufacturers HO-scale kit that Bob converted to S by replacing the railings and ladder cage. Bob did his own painting and lettering.
This beautifully effective scene is at the end of a branch line. The barge could be removed and stored, and as such provided operational interest as an interchange with another railroad. Bob scratchbuilt the barge and its apron, as well as the foreground structures. The warehouse in the background was built from Design Preservation Models O-scale modular wall sections. Rolling stock is from S-Helper Service, Des Plaines Hobbies, and American Models. The barge, apron, and warehouse now reside on Dick Karnes' NYW&B layout.
