Paul Washburn's ATSF 2-8-0 #1962

These are photos Paul Washburn has shared of his build of the ATSF 2-8-0 class 1950 steam locomotive, which he decorated for road number 1962. All photos are copyright © Paul Washburn; used by permission. Click the photos for a larger version.

The engine is already completed in these photos.

Paul shared a few of the tender's construction photos. First up are the brass-and-styrene tender trucks he made. To carry the wheels, the truck sideframes, the bolsters, and the axle bearings are brass, but the journal boxes are cosmetic.

He then fabricated the basic body structure.

Finalizing the details.

Adding the rivets.

The entire model is now primed.

And, painted.

And, running on his layout.
