The project was started by Jonathan Abbott, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. He used Kickstarter to help fund this project. He launched it in January of 2025 and the required funds were reached in 9 minutes! The fully animated, rechargeable, remote-controlled excavator was delivered in December 2025. He intends to manufacture more of these types of models.
