These early kits were composed of wood turnings for the boiler, and embossed card stock for the cab and tender. The 1937 kits did not come with a motor, but starting in 1938 they came with a Bowser (brand-new company at the time) motor. The tender trucks are C-D trucks of metal castings with turned-steel wheels for electrical pickup. The tender itself is a wood box with an embossed paper wrapper glued around it.
