Brass Kit

The kit had a formed brass frame, brass boiler and cab, with cast-resin steam chest, firebox, smoke box, and tender. It was a "spartan" kit so the owner was to detail it with S Scale Locomotive & Supply parts. The problem with this engine's design was that it used steel tires on plastic spoke drivers with "D" end axles. Over time the axles wore larger holes in the plastic and the drivers became loose and "wobbly". The mechanism was then prone to locking up because the drivers were no longer properly quartered.
