Notes:
Available in kit, semi-kit, and ready-to-run versions. Re-run in 2007. The mostly pewter kit was manufactured by J.G. Models (J. Gardner) in New Zealand. Bill Hobbs offers the following thoughts on this model. Only the first and fourth driver axles are sprung and suggests using springs that are strong enough to balance the locomotive. Electrical pick-up is via the driver wheels, and so recommends either adding pick-ups to the tender wheels or switching to using battery power. He recommends replacing the drawbar with a simple brass one, and to ignore the wire-harness feature.

Notes:
These models can cause an intermittent short. According to Bill Winans, the cause is a lack of bearing restraint in the frame allowing too much lateral movement. Bill used Kadee insulating washers between the outside crank and the frame to limit lateral motion. He cut a small slice from the washer to allow it to snap onto the axle; over the years, they have not come undone.
