Notes:

In 2013, the NASG's Special Projects committee commissioned American Models to produce this baggage car. The car was previously only available as part of the 5-car set (part #HW8013), so this addition made it possible for members to buy this car without having to buy the entire set. The body was painted in Pullman green.

Shown is a slightly modified version. Bill replaced the stock couplers with Kadee ones, and the trucks have been turned 180 degrees and remounted in the hole nearest the end of the car (to make the trucks appear to be closer to the ends of the car). Neither of these changes are required to use the car.

Notes:

There was some confusion as to who actually produced these cars. The cars shown here were made by Kinsman in 1969, which was after owner Bob Blois stopped working for Northeastern Scale Models. Northeastern also produced these cars, but only in HO-scale and they are slightly different from the ones that Kinsman made (Northeastern's cars had double-doors or three-door configurations; Ambroid sold these HO-scale NE kits).

Dick Karnes built this model as per the instructions. He added stirrup steps cut from ladder stock, brass wire hand grabs, Monroe Hobby Products diaphragms, styrene clerestory vents, San Juan "Evolution" couplers, and used Floquil paint and Champ decals to complete the model. The sprung trucks are from Train Stuff.

Tom Lennon found these kit parts, but the ends, doors, and details are missing from his kit. It does, however, offer a glimpse into what these kits looked like originally.
