This was a special run done for the Chicagoland Association of S Gaugers for their 1984 Fall S Fest. The car was manufactured by Hobby Surplus from left-over material from when they bought the remaining A.C. Gilbert inventory. Hobby Surplus provided the flat car bodies undecorated. Members of the Chicagoland Association of S Gaugers (CASG) and the Badgerland Association of S Gaugers (BASG), who sponsored and organized the S Fest, painted and decorated the models. The cars were also outfitted with knuckle couplers and sintered-iron trucks. CASG member John Wickland made the loads by stamping blocks with various A.C. Gilbert and American Flyer logos and icons. These are rare cars.
