Holt Apgar took an N&W model and converted it to a Lehigh Valley one. He used S-scale black piping stripe decals which he bought from Des Plaines Hobbies 30 years before applying to this model. The perforated side screens are also from Des Plaines Hobbies. Testors flat red enamel was darkened slightly to patch AM's red on this model. Holt installed the window glazing to the front and rear cab windows, and the front and rear headlights. A light weathering was done with thinned flat black enamel, as well as flat clear lacquer, which also sealed the decals. Yellow flat enamel was brushed on the handrails by the steps, as per the LV prototype photos.
