Ed Kirstatter got this model second-hand, and it was in very rough shape. It is to represent a Baltimore & Ohio class I-5 wooden cupola caboose for numbers C-1900 thru C-2199. The kit didn't come with instructions; just suggestions for how to paint it. Ed used Ed Sauers B&O caboose decal set to letter it. He used an article in the August 1955 Model Railroader magazine to aid the reconstruction. He added weight inside to make the car weigh 6 ounces. He also added brass door knobs, gutters, marker lamps, and Northeastern Andrews trucks, after detailing the underframe with cast brass clevises for the AB brakes. He installed Kadee #802 couplers with plugs inside the centering springs to cut down on the slack action. Ed painted it with four Floquil colors. He numbered it for B&O C-1975 Class I-5 of which he has a prototype photo.
