Well Cars

A well car is somewhat similar in concept to a depressed-center flat car, except that well cars are made for a specific purpose, whereas depressed-center flat cars are more general-purpose. Well cars have a deep well between their trucks that just clears the tops of the rails. This allows them to carry tall and heavy loads. Modernday cars can be seen carrying shipping containers.
