The layout is constructed in a stand-alone barn, after having been moved from the house's attic. This is Joe's third layout. The layout and its space are designed for wheel-chair access.

The tipple at the coal mine (#23 in the track plan) is completely scratchbuilt, and it has 11 LEDs installed for the exterior lighting.
