Phases I, II, III, and V were produced. Phase I (1938): two short exhaust stacks. Phase II (1945): one tall exhaust stack. Phase III (1949): horizontal surface of the hood in front of cab replaced with a longer sloping one. Phase IV (1950): cab windows not arched, but horizontal. Phase V (1953): openings in step guards and sealed twin headlights added. The models were made in Korea by Samhongsa, and were sold unpainted. The model actually sits in its suspension, giving it amazing pulling power. The main photo shows the phase II version, and Photo #2 shows a phase III model.

The cab and hood were brass etchings then formed and soldered together. The mechanism is on a cast brass frame made up from Miller trucks with Omnicon gearboxes. The motor is a Pittman DC-71 connected to a flywheel and a gear train down to the worm shaft of one truck only. Jack painted and decorated his for the PRR.
