Samhongsa of Korea manufactured three versions of the RDC. The models arrived painted (nickle-plated) but unlettered. Omnicon also offered the RDC's geared trucks with their sideframes as a separate item for those wanting to use them in other projects. The model was reviewed in the March 1988 issue of the NASG's The Dispatch magazine. The RDC-1 was an all-passenger car. Of the 90 RDC-1 models that Omnicon imported, half were powered and half were not. See the main photo (Bill Lane's PRSL version; the Video tab shows this model's rework and in action on Bill's layout) and Photo #2 (Ken Garber's unlettered/original version). The RDC-2 was a 70-passenger car with a small, 17-foot, baggage compartment. Only 20 models were imported. Photo #3 shows Bob Hogan's model which he turned into the Western Pacific "Zephyrette". The RDC-3 offered a passenger, baggage, and mail compartment. Only 20 models were imported. Photo #4 shows Bill Fraley's model. Although not produced by Omnicon, the Budd company also produced the RDC-4, which offered only baggage/mail storage, and the RDC-9, which was cab-less.
