These kits consisted of a wooden framework (for the floor, two roof strips, end blocks, and spacer blocks), over which the pre-painted/lettered stamped metal sides, ends, roof, and roof walk were to be applied. This kit's sides did not have a road number on them (these would have numbers in the range of 8000 to 8099). Ed tried to match the kit's paint color for the extra parts he added. He added American Models' trucks, Kadee #808 S-scale couplers, and wood paneling on the interior.

These kits consisted of a wooden framework (for the floor, two roof strips, end blocks, and spacer blocks), over which the pre-painted/lettered stamped metal sides (not numbered), ends, roof, and roof walk were to be applied. The outside bracing is very shallow, and has rivet impressions beside them. This does not represent a composite wood car. The underframe has the minimum of detail parts applied. The model in the photo still has the HO-scale Kadee ramp-operated couplers from before they invented the magnetically-operated ones. It has, however, been upgraded with American Models sprung Bettendorf type of trucks.

A rare, all-metal gondola kit from back in the 1950s. This craftsman kit of metal stampings and a formed tin box to put the sides and ends onto. The stamped sides were pre-painted with lettering but no numbers. Its lettering was for a 55-ton car of the GB class. Ed added S-Helper Service's Bettendorf type trucks and Kadee #802 couplers. Some additional details were added when he built this model in April of 2009. It weighs 8 ounces without a load.

These kits consisted of a wooden framework (for the floor, two roof strips, end blocks, and spacer blocks), over which the pre-painted/lettered stamped metal sides, ends, roof, and roof walk were to be applied. Bob got this model second-hand and had to essentially re-create the sides to make them look like the originals as much as possible, because they were in really bad condition. The paint on these models flakes off after a while. He added some Pacific Rail Shops details, Grandt Line AB brake system components, and door hinges.
