These are flat resin kits, but are nicely cast. The prototype is the WWI USRA standard design. The second photo is of Bill Winans' model in its unfinished state. The kits were manufactured for Scenery Unlimited by Funaro & Camerlengo. Ed Kirstatter wrote an article about how to build these types of kits in the March 2022 issue of the NASG's Dispatch magazine.

A brass import from Korea that needed to be painted, have decals applied, and S Kadee #802 couplers installed. The trucks that come with this model are of the Taylor Flexible type only seen on the Reading Railroad. Ed painted the model with Scalecoat II paint and used John Hall #109 Reading decals for box cars of many classes. This particular model was finished up as a XMv class built in 1937. Extra parts added were cut levers and pulling staples. By the way, this model was freshly painted when this photo was taken.

This was SRCC's first (and only, so far) fully in-house developed resin kit of a 10-foot interior height box car. The roof, doors (a choice of two styles), and the detailing parts were injection-molder styrene. The sides, ends, and underframe were flat castings. There were four C-D-S Lettering decals choices (hence making up the seven product numbers, with the earliest lettering style never being used for one of the door types). This kit was reviewed in the November/December 2003 issue of the S Gaugian.
